Bad Breath
The most common cause of bad breath are volatile sulphur compounds (VSC) that are produced when naturally occurring bacteria break down plaque and oral debris in the mouth. We all have VSC in our mouths and it is only when they reach a certain level that they become detectable by the nose.
The most effective way of combating bad breath is to maintain a high level of oral care, with special emphasis on areas where bacteria thrive:
- On the surface of the tongue
- Between the teeth and below the gums
- Other hard to reach areas
